Three Turns Should Do It by JessicaRoman Three Turns Should Do It by JessicaRoman
My time turner necklace is definitely one of my favorite possessions.
I've wanted to photograph it for a while, but I had to get it repaired first.

"Three turns should do it" is a quote by Albus Dumbledore from the Prisoner of Azkaban.

I am, admittedly, insanely obsessed with all things Harry Potter.
(((And proud!)))

Purchased from The Noble Collection. They don't have the one I have anymore, but they do have one quite similar.

Oh my goodness gracious a Daily Deviation!! I cannot thank you all enough for the kind words and favorites.

This is amazing. It captures the essence of Harry Potter magic beautifully, and looks like a real Time Turner. The background is blurred as if you were spinning through time and space, like the object is used for in books. I would give it 5 star in everything, but not everyone would agree with that! The light has been angled quite well, it shines as if it were made of gold, and valuable. It looks genuinely like it's magic and could turn back time. The background, I know I've already said this, but the blurriness makes it look amazing, and real. :typerhappy:

Time Turners always look beautiful, but this photo makes it even better. When I first saw it,a story appeared in my mind.A story where everything is burning and somebody uses this time turner to scape and change what have happened. This pic makes me imagine, just as Harry Potter does.It is not a simple picture,It can even be a way to Hogwarts.I have seen other Time turner's pics in Deviantart, but this is probably the best one.
Also the technique is perfect. You can see every detail of it,and with this pendant it can be really important, because it has more beauty in it than people imagine.
And I'm aslo insanely obsessed with Harry Potter >w<
Nice job!

Lovely colours, gorgeous timer and lovely feel - if only it didn't have so much grain though :/

Thanks.
I personally like the grain; I think it makes the photo look more rustic. I believe I actually intensified it so that the necklace stood out even more from the background. :peace:

It's a matter of personal taste then (:

Yep!
I would prefer the actual focal point to have a different texture than the background - especially in this piece. It draws your eye to the glossier portion of the photo - which is exactly where I want people to look. I don't want the background to be of more importance than the object, I want it to stick out. :meow: I think it's quite nice. It's my personal favorite photo, and it has a daily deviation, so hurray for grain.
Thanks for the comment! :peace:

It's interesting to hear from someone else's point of view :) I guess I play with sharpness vs very blurry and especially grainless backgrounds to make something stand out, but you have used another technique. It's interesting - and I'm glad you got a DD for it :)
